AFAQ fulfilled a longstanding demand when it brought out the English version of Islamic Studies Sun Series books to cater to English medium schools. Another beautiful addition to its textbooks will be the Nakhlah Series books for preschool children. AFAQ has now become a large service-rendering organization in the education sector. It aims to expand both nationally and globally. It also provides consultancy to schools abroad. AFAQ has a network of over 300 dealers throughout Pakistan.
Having made a name for itself in curriculum and textbook development, AFAQ joined hands with reputed international organizations ASQ and Solution Tree to promote quality tools and learning material for students and teachers. It was in November 2010 when AFAQ launched the Quality Management and System Programme for school teachers and principals in Pakistan. Next month, AFAQ introduced 24 titles of Solution Tree and participated in the 6th Karachi International Book Fair.
After years of research, AFAQ brought out the Iqbal Series books to fulfill its dream of providing value-based education to Pakistani children. Named after national poet Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, the Iqbal Series books were both affordable and of high quality. Another feather in AFAQ's cap was the establishment of the Children's Club. It aimed to inculcate the students with Islamic teachings and train them for future challenges. AFAQ joined hands with reputed international organization Eeman Series. With its foot firmly entrenched in the ground, AFAQ was now eying the future with a clear vision.
AFAQ took strides to expand nationwide. Back in 2003-04, it was a tiny organization that had just spread its wings in an attempt to take off. The flight was beset with several dangers and problems. AFAQ confronted all difficulties with grit and determination. It now stood tall on its feet. It had developed a personality of its own with checks, systems and structures for the smooth running of the organization. With increasing self-confidence, it was ready to take on bigger and bigger challenges.
AFAQ continued to grow as an organization. As its operations expanded nationwide, the number of its employees also increased significantly and so did the number of books sold, training workshops conducted, training days, and teachers trained. It became possible because of the relentless and dedicated efforts of AFAQ's team of trainers and marketing personnel. Meanwhile, the Research Division made extensive changes to the existing textbooks to catch up with the latest curriculum trends.
In pursuance of its objectives, AFAQ hired a number of qualified personnel for various departments. As the number of book titles increased, AFAQ books gradually became a household name all over the country. On the other hand, the AFAQ Training Division expanded its operations with a view to preparing a new breed of quality teachers all across the country. No doubt, the AFAQ team met with astounding success in achieving its goals.
With the introduction of Sun Series books, AFAQ took a leap forward in textbook development. The Sun Series books became popular with students and teachers alike because of their absorbing content, attractive layout, colorful illustrations, and interesting activities. On the other hand, there was a noticeable increase in the volume of books sold and the amount of revenue generated through the sale of books. Laying special emphasis on quality, AFAQ continued to train school teachers and principals all over Pakistan around the year.
Making a marked difference in the quality of education in Pakistan, AFAQ's dedicated team of educationists and trainers left no stone unturned in developing sound curricula for schools in Pakistan and preparing teachers for the challenges of the modern world.
Although AFAQ had been in existence since 1999, a new spirit was infused into the organization in 2003 with the aim to develop an education system that could meet the requirements of a modern, scientific and dynamic world in accordance with the Islamic ideology. Though a small organization, AFAQ began to show its presence in the national education scene through curriculum and textbook development teacher training programs.
Taking the reality into account, AFAQ was set up in 1997 to provide quality education to ALL layers of society without compromising the outcomes of learning from top-level schools to lower-end ones. All aspects of learning including textbooks, teacher training, and character building was the core to improving schools with the aim of achieving model students to encompass knowledge, skills, and attitudes for everyday life without differentiating between class structures. The founding partner's realization that without quality education linked to the principles of Islam, was the main obstacle in the progression of Pakistan. Therefore, the basis of establishing AFAQ was laid down in its mission statement and quality policy.
